She sued

On May 24, 2021, she sued the City of Pflugerville under the Texas Whistleblower Act in the 455th District Court. A week later, on May 31, she resigned. Her family moved across Texas.

The case settled at mediation in November 2021. The city paid $75,000, through the Texas Municipal League Intergovernmental Risk Pool, and the case was dismissed with prejudice. The city admitted no wrongdoing.

We promised him, we promised his wife, his kids that we would be here for them and that we would be here for all the moments that he should still be here for. So it means a lot to be able to carry that on.
